The Happiest Half 2024
Looking back on Sunday February 25th we can’t help but smile at the memories of the first Rubix VT Brighton Half Marathon. Despite the unpleasantly cold and windy weather, the atmosphere was filled with optimism and excitement.
Simply put, this year’s event exceeded all expectations. 10,000 runners, 2 course records broken, and over £1 million raised for various charities – this is a fantastic increase compared to previous years.
It was great to see a return of the Sussex Beacon charity relay, featuring six teams including our amazing Rubix Runners, who braved their very first half marathon. The Youth race was also quite popular and so refreshing to see younger generations be inspired by running.
The start and finish line was in very good hands with the iconic presence of our managing director, Nick Poyner, and rugby legend Gareth Thomas.
Big congratulations to the winners and all runners, and a special shout out to the two amazing women who broke records – Cassie Thorp and Claudia Burrough, your bonus is on the way, courtesy of Rubix VT.
After the race, the Rubix team gathered at the DoubleTree by Hilton Brighton Metropole to celebrate the day’s achievements to the sound of some of the best tunes by Illusions UK.

Go Giraffe
Another success was our Go Giraffe competition: we received 186 entries and the lucky runner won a Dinner Bed & Breakfast at Hotel du Vin. If you entered the competition but didn’t win, don’t be discouraged: we will be sending you a special Go Giraffe offer!
